Powered with analytical tools utilized in multiple siting phases, Team Choice guides the siting project manager through the entire route selection methodology.
Once set up, Team Choice allows the siting project manager to initiate stakeholder surveys to calibrate the siting model. On smartphones stakeholders complete the surveys, which are used to compare the relative importance of siting criteria and determine the relative suitability of areas to host a new facility

The spatial analysis engine within Team Choice is used to create suitablility maps based on stakeholder input. The suitability maps are evaluated to produce corridors which emphasize alternative perspectives.
The siting team identifies alternate routes using the corridors as guidance. Team Choice produces charts and metrics used to evaluate routes. The Alternate Route Evaluation Model is used to identify the top routes. The siting team uses the route selection model to identify the preferred route base on the most important siting data.
While the siting methodology upon which Team Choice is based was developed by the electric transmission industry, it can be used for siting other infrastructure such as oil, gas, and water pipelines. Team Choice is supported by siting experts who have worked on hundreds of projects across local, regional, and national jurisdictions with varying regulatory environments. Team Choice consultants help project teams adapt the siting methodology to meet their unique project requirements.
Team Choice automates the implementation of the EPRI-GTC Siting Methodology. Team Choice was developed and is supported by a co-creator of the methodology. The EPRI-GTC methodology was developed in 2004 and has been used on hundreds of projects worldwide.
In summary, the structured decision making embedded in the EPRI-GTC methodology represents a significant positive step compared to previous route-selection processes. It produced a clear record of the factors that led to decisions and the trade-offs and compromises made.
